i was on vacation when this map initially came out, and it didnt really interest me upon seeing it for the first time. some of the gameplay looked super gimmicky and wacky, especially with the dream jellies. however when i did my first clear i was pleasantly surprised with some crazy fun gameplay which wasnt too challenging! i had seen viddie's fc golden of this and saw it was a high tier 3, a subtier tier which doesnt include very many widely received goldens, and a tier i had tried to get a golden of 3 different times to no avail, so this was the perfect golden to do!
progress came super quick with me being super hopeful about this not taking very long. once i got cp4 deathless, i was quick to assume this wouldnt take more than a week more. man i was completely wrong. learning cp3 and cp2 came with ease but cp1 contained some of the hardest and most inconsistent rooms in the map. the timing to do a buffer out of the tnt blocks never got consistent for me, so most of my deaths came from me dashing too early to my eventual demise a half second later.
runs from start came super quickly, with a crazy run to moonberry on the second day!!! surely i practiced enough to be able to replicate this run within the next couple of days riiiiight??? i did eventually get another moonberry entry, which was followed by a 5 day mindblock on room 12, with me dying there 6 times without passing it. once i did (on the day before i got the golden), my confidence skyrocketed and was actually having some fun doing runs. i booted up the game the morning after and got this run within 30 minutes, which i am forever thankful of
this goldens balancing is quite odd to say the least. cp1 is probably the hardest checkpoint and is very tough to get consistent at. most sessions i would only get 2 or 3 runs past cp1, which made long sessions super annoying and pointless. cp2 has one of the hardest inputs in the map, with a variable 3 frame in the final room, as well as the nyoom part in the end of final which i died to wayyyy too many times. cp3 is quite chill, but some of the gameplay felt inconsistent from the use of the dream jellies. cp4 was super fun and consistent all throughout, except for the two water/grass fusion rooms. i spent hours in these rooms trying to get any glimpse of consistency from them, and i was never able to get them to be more than 50% consistent. thank god i fluked everything once i passed those rooms from start, because who knows how many more deaths i wouldve had to them.
