justice joyce abdulmalik of the federal high court in abuja has admitted former attorney general of the federation and minister of justice, abubakar malami, san, his son abdulaziz malami and his wife bashir asabe to bail in the sum of 200 million maira each pending their trial over alleged 8.7 billion naira money laundering charges brought against them by the federal government.
the court ordered the defendants to produce two sureties each in like sum, with developed landed properties in maitama or asokoro, abuja.
joseph kadiri reports that justice abdulmalik directed that documents of the landed properties must be verified by the deputy chief registrar of the court, while the sureties are also to depose to affidavit of means.
