Описание: This was actually an UNBELIEVABLE moment when I discovered that the iceberg which sank the Titanic came from this astonishing place in Greenland - the Ilulissat Ice Fjord. And this is a fact which not many people even KNOW! I visited here for the day while on a recent expedition cruise to Greenland with HX Hurtigruten Expeditions on the cruise ship the MS Fridtjof Nansen and my mind was completely blown. This fjord is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and is the world's only ice fjord. And I couldn't BELIEVE it when I visited the Ice Fjord Centre and this was on one of the information panels. Expert scientists worked out that currents and wind drifted the iceberg from this fjord in Greenland (250km north of the Arctic Circle) all the way to off the Canada coast in the Atlantic to where it was struck by the Titanic on that fateful night. This video shows the whole of Ilulissat and how best to explore. It includes some 'cute' howling Greenlandic Dogs (a very special canine species which only lives in Greenland) as well as the Ice Fjord Centre and the mile-long (1.5km) boardwalk from the Ice Fjord center a fantastic lookout point over the Ilulissat Ice Fjord. There are also some rock trails to follow beyond this and that's where I heard some amazing loud booming noises and then saw a whale blowing a few times - I managed to capture one whale on camera. Then I took a trip on a smaller boat right into the Ice Fjord for a closer look and this was phenomenal. These icebergs are MASSIVE - no wonder it sunk the Titanic if it was this kind of size. If you get a chance to visit this awesome place you should grab it!
