Presented at National Trust Conference 2022 (with IHC and CAHP), October 21, 2022 (Toronto, Chelsea Hotel)
Large governmental approaches involving legislation and planning are only part of the story of the United Nations declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples. Indigenous people working in various areas of heritage, have important perspectives on the work that is already being done to protect, honour, and revitalize Indigenous heritage and what work there is yet to do. Join us as we look at Indigenous approaches to heritage through various case studies and practical applications of the principles of UNDRIP.
