Sameehan Kashalkar, son and disciple of Ulhas Kashalkar in the Gwalior tradition, is an A-grade Musician Scholar at the ITC Sangeet Research Academy, Kolkata. He also learnt Thumri and other light classical forms from Girija Devi of the Banaras tradition. He made his debut at Aundh Mahotsav (near Pune) at the age of 13 and has performed at various major music festivals, including the Sawai Gandharva Festival in Pune. He is a recipient of the Ustad Bismillah Khan Yuva Puraskaar by the Sangeet Natak Akademi in 2019.
