Shanghai's Yuyuan Garden lit up with horse-themed lanterns for Spring Festival

Описание: Shanghai’s iconic Yuyuan Garden Lantern Festival has lit up, showcasing a stunning collection of horse-themed lanterns to welcome the 2026 Year of the Horse, which begins on February 17. Visitors of all ages have praised the lanterns’ grand, vivid designs and the strong festive atmosphere they create.

The highlight of the display is the main zodiac horse lantern set, drawing inspiration from the Six Steeds of the Flourishing Tang Dynasty and integrating elements from precious relics at Henan’s Luoyang Museum. Additional displays blend horse imagery with legendary creatures from the Shanhaijing (Classic of Mountains and Seas).

A key tradition for visitors is walking the Nine-Turn Bridge, a custom believed to bring a peaceful life.

Chinese New YearThis year’s 36-day festival requires timed, ticket-only entry, with adult tickets priced at 80 yuan and discounted tickets at 50 yuan.
