Never Give In!

Описание: One of the most famous lines for which Winston Churchill is often remembered comes from the speech which he made that day. “But for everyone, surely, what we have gone through in this period — I am addressing myself to the School — surely from this period of ten months this is the lesson: never give in, never give in, never, never, never, never-in nothing, great or small, large or petty — never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.”  You and I here today live on the other side of the conflict which precipitated that speech. We, as the redeemed of God, are confronted at times with what appears to be an enemy of overwhelming might. However, we know that Satan has been defeated and that his time is short.  What God calls upon each of us who are Christians here this morning to do is to stay the course, to keep pressing on “toward the goal for prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus” (Philippians 3:14). Nowhere do we find a better example of someone doing that than the apostle Paul in the early days of his efforts to reach the lost in Corinth. As we look at these verses here in Acts 18, I want us to see more clearly the struggles of this faithful servant of Christ and what God did to strengthen and encourage him in the work before him.
