Welcome to Episode 19 of our Animatronic Horror Bear Modeling Series!
In this episode, we begin the rigging process by creating the skeleton (joint structure) for our character in Autodesk Maya. You’ll learn how to place joints correctly for the torso, arms, legs, and head so the character can move naturally once animation begins.
We focus on a streamlined joint placement, hierarchy, and alignment to ensure clean deformation and predictable movement later in the rigging process. This lesson emphasizes best practices for building a clear, organized skeleton that works well with the mechanical nature of an animatronic character.
By the end of this episode, your bear will have a complete skeletal structure in place and be ready for controller connections and skinning in upcoming lessons.
Be sure to Like and Subscribe so you don’t miss the next episode, where we continue rigging by refining joints and preparing the character for skinning!
