Frontman Clarence “Mr. Pink” Jones was notorious for his moans, howls, and downright obscene stage banter, often collapsing to the floor mid-song in mock ecstasy while the crowd screamed back at him. He didn’t just sing about love—he sang about flesh, funk, and everything that happened between the sheets.
Behind him, the band delivered grooves that were deep, greasy, and dripping with innuendo. The bass throbbed like a heartbeat under the covers, the wah-wah guitar slithered like sweat down bare skin, and the drums hit with the steady pulse of a lover who wasn’t stopping any time soon. The Hammond organ smoldered, while the horn blasts cut through like gasps in the dark.
