The late Joseph Musili Mutinda was born in 1949 at Malili village, Kanzau sublocation,
Miambani location, Kitui county. He was the son of the late Mutinda
Makunyu and Wanza Mutinda. Step son to Kalumu Mutinda and Kaka Mutinda. He
was father to Mary, Joyce, Monica, Michael, Paul, the late Jane, the late Stephen
and Boniface. The late Joseph was brother to the late Mbui Mutinda, late Musali
Mutinda, Late Kamola Mutinda, Malonza Mutinda, late Maluki Mutinda, late
Mbakuli Mutinda, Munyoki Mutinda, Mwendwa Mutinda, Makunyu Mutinda, late
Soo Mutinda, Munzi Mutinda, Philip Mutinda, Kavula Mutinda. He left behind 18
grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
He was father in law to Mary Kimanzi, Wanja Muthui, Munanu Musyoka, Musyoka
Mutunga and Nelson Mutinda.
EDUCATION
The late Joseph began his education in 1956 at Mikuyuni Primary School and sat
for Common Entrance Exams in 1962.
WORK AND CAREER
The late Joseph worked as a salesman in Nairobi and later became a
businessman where he owned a shop at Mutitu town. He later started farming
and being a very smart farmer grew different types of crops in large scale
farming.
MARRIAGE AND FAMILY LIFE
The late Joseph married the love of his life Regina Wonanyo and were
blessed with eight children namely Muli Musili, Mwende Musili,
Monica Musili, Kimanzi Musili, Muthui Musili, the late Jane Kalumu
Musili, late Stephen Musili and Musyoka Musili.
CHRISTIAN LIFE
The late Joseph was a devoted catholic. He was baptized in the year 1960
at Mikuyuni Catholic Church and later solemnized his union with Regina in a
church wedding. He was a dedicated member of the Catholic Men Association
and served as the chairman/treasurer of CMA group at Mikuyuni Catholic
Church and a moderator of CMA Mutito Parish till his demise.
SICKNESS AND DEMISE
The late Joseph enjoyed good health for most of his life. However, in August
2025 he was diagnosed with prostrate cancer and was hospitalized at The
Nairobi West Hospital. He was in and out of hospital but his health deteriorated.
The late Joseph went to be with the Lord on 23rd December 2025.
