The Cauvery Hostel has entered a new chapter with the inauguration of its newly renovated Common Room and Library spaces, reimagined to inspire learning, interaction, and a stronger sense of community.
This transformation was made possible through the generous support of Dr. N. R. Dave (1965 / BT / CE), whose contribution reflects a deep and lasting bond with his alma mater. Held on 27th January 2026, the inauguration celebrated not just a physical upgrade, but the revival of shared spaces that shape everyday student life at IIT Madras.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. N. R. Dave, Distinguished Alumnus Awardee (1996), IIT Madras, and a respected civil engineer, builder, and philanthropist with decades of leadership across professional and social institutions. His presence and support stand as a testament to the enduring spirit of alumni giving back to nurture future generations.
