Mill Crash?!?!? Recovery Lessons Learned

Описание: In the literature and instructions, they can’t prepare the user for all scenarios and circumstances. But accidents and crashes happen. Peruse Ebay for used lathes, mills, surface grinder, shapers, vises, work holding, chucks, other tool holders and it is hard to find an example that shows a tool has been run into something. Not all crashes are machine ending and there is always a way to recover. Tools are excellent but we the operators are human, and crashes and accident s are inadvertent. I hope to show you some of the crashed I experienced, so you can learn to avoid them. When it does happen, it is time to recover, and I’ll show you the tram lessons I learned to come out of this time better and more aware than I have ever been before.

While modern CNC milling centers are amazing for the maker and home shop machinist, there are some things you simply cannot do without a Lathe or Mill. Believe it or not, but the Lathe is known as the mother of all machine tools, for this piece of equipment led to the development of many other machine tools such as the vertical and horizontal milling machines. With proper fixturing, layout, and calculations the manual Lathe and Mill can do it all. These are key pieces of equipment in any machine shop whether for commercial or home use. In videos I will be demonstrating the Sherline Lathe “C Package” and the Mill “Package A”. I chose these particular machines for my project because it had many features, I felt would be beneficial for my build; the Kozo ¾” scale Pennsylvania A-3 Switcher 0-4-0 steam engine.
