GeM continued to build momentum through outreach initiatives and strengthening GeM portal adoption. Here’s a snapshot of key highlights from across the country.

Building on the success of its maiden Industrial Tour, GeM welcomed a second batch of Young Officers from Military College of Telecommunications Engineering (MCTE) to further strengthen industry engagement and learning opportunities.

Shri Mihir Kumar, CEO, GeM, interacted with the officers, encouraging them to share their perspectives on GeM's role in the procurement ecosystem while highlighting its contribution towards transparency and efficiency in public procurement, including the importance of category-based bidding.

The Defence Team also conducted a comprehensive walkthrough of the GeM portal and presented an overview of the Ministry of Defence's procurement performance on the platform.

GeM Women@Work undertook a sapling plantation drive at GeM Jeevan Bharti on 9th June 2026 for World Environment Day 2026. Aligned with the global campaign #NowForClimate, the initiative reflected a shared commitment to environmental stewardship and collective action for a sustainable future.

The drive also highlighted the contribution of women at GeM in fostering a greener, more responsible ecosystem through conscious action and nation-building.

As part of its ongoing Employee Well-being Initiative, GeM, in collaboration with Kailash Hospital & Neuro Institute, organised an informative session on 'Ergonomics at Workplace' to promote healthier work practices and enhance employee wellness.

The session highlighted the importance of maintaining proper posture, setting up ergonomically sound workstations, and adopting healthy work habits.

Experts from Kailash Hospital & Neuro Institute shared practical guidance on preventing musculoskeletal issues associated with prolonged desk work, covering aspects such as correct sitting posture, optimal monitor placement, chair and desk adjustments, and simple exercises that can be incorporated into daily routines.

Emphasising the role of ergonomics in improving physical comfort, reducing workplace-related health risks, and enhancing productivity, the initiative reinforced GeM's commitment in fostering a healthier, safer, and more supportive workplace that prioritises the holistic well-being of its employees.

Team GeM is engaging universities under the Govt. of NCT of Delhi by conducting awareness workshops and interacting with institutional leadership and procurement officials to drive GeM adoption and transparent procurement.
