Rural Poverty Reduction: An innovation in fish-smoking improves lives
FAO with EU introduces the FTT-Thiaroye fish processing technique to rural communities in the Batticaloa district of Sri Lanka, for the first time in Asia.
FAO with funding from the European Union and in partnership with the Government of Sri Lanka implemented the Support to District Development Programme (EU-SDDP) with the aim of reducing poverty among former conflict affected communities through agricultural development. The EU-SDDP has assisted Sri Lanka since 2012 in making a transition from post-conflict assistance to reconstruction and development.
