World Flag Animation but its the 1900s

Описание: This video includes the flags of sovereign nations, unrecognised countries, colonies, dominions, protectorates, puppet states, short-lived nations and other nation-states that existed in the 1900s - also includes some unofficial flags for some nations and major political movements of the world. Apologies if there are some places that I missed (sometimes I could not find an official flag for some of the states, even if Wikipedia may have shown some smaller snippets) or incorrect due to differing sources.

PS Just to get this out of the way, there are at least 2 other decades I want to try and make videos for; and 2 existing decade videos that I wish to remake but I will need to ask the OG vid creators for that.

PPS The video was made using Camtasia 2023 with captions enabled so no you cannot turn them off because they're built into the video

The 1900s was a decade of the Gregorian calendar that began on 1 January, 1900, and ended on 31 January, 1909. The decade is also known as the "Edwardian Era"

This decade marked the start of the 20th Century proper. While technological and social change was afoot - e.g. the first airplane, the first mass-produced car, first wave of feminism - the scene was being set for the turbulent decade that was soon to follow. The Scramble for Africa was coming to a close and New Imperialism was dominating the world as various native insurrections rose up only to fail to European and American (note: Western) imperial might - notably in places like The Philippines, China, the Balkans and Africa (although there was a successful revolution in Turkey which saw the Ottoman Empire become more liberally reformed).

There were also major crises involving the great powers of Europe notably in Morocco, Bosnia and Korea - with the former two seeing tensions rise between the powers; and the latter being a major conflict that surprisingly saw the industrialising but small nation of Japan defeating the much larger but more backward empire of Russia, just showing the rest of the world how awful the expansive Empire actually is. Alliances and arms races on the European theatre were also all the rage as the British and Germans vied for power over the seas, and France, Russia and Italy sought protection from their neighbours ambitions by banding with each other.

The leading empires may not have been on the decline this decade but you could say that this was both the end of the beginning and the beginning of the end... an end that would come to a head when the 1910s rolled around.
