Promising stayer Incentivise again showed why he's being targeted at the Melbourne spring after thrashing his rivals in the Provincial Stayers Final at Ipswich on Saturday.

The four-year-old Shamus Award gelding put 9 1/2 lengths on the field, following up on a nine-length romp at Eagle Farm and a 7 1/4-length victory at Toowoomba.

That made it five straight wins for Incentivise since claiming his maiden at the Sunshine Coast in April.

His dominant performances led to prominent owners Brae Sokolski and Ozzie Kheir striking a deal with the current trainer - and original owner - Steve Tregea for a 50 per cent share in the exciting galloper.

Incentivise will head south to be trained by Peter Moody in the spring but could have one more run for Tregea, who retained a share in the horse, in Queensland before the stable shift.

"There's a possibility of running in the Caloundra Cup, the new owners are keen to do that," Tregea said post-race.

"I sort of think he's had enough, but he's not really showing it in the feed tin or anything, so we'll just see how he does."

"We're in a great position in that we can just bide our time and see."

Sent around as the $1.30 favourite on Saturday, Incentivise had no issue handling the rise in distance to 2500m, racing right away from the field in the straight before being eased down on the line.

Jockey Anthony Allen had to do a bit of work early to settle outside the lead from barrier 11, with Tregea explaining they wanted to take bad luck out of the equation.

"He's growing up run by run," Tregea said.

"I'm just pleased the race worked out. We decided to go forward just to take bad luck out of it."

TAB wound Incentivise's price for the Caulfield Cup in from $34 to $26 immediately after the race, having opened at $201 in the Futures market.
