For this episode of the Legacy Foundation’s Mondays with Mundy, Historian Jim Mundy tells the very interesting story of League member, John White Geary. Geary was born in 1819. He was the first Mayor of San Francisco in 1850, Governor of Kansas Territory in 1856, and served as Governor of Pennsylvania from 1867-73. He was a Major General in the Civil War.
This episode also serves as the first in a mini sub-series of Mondays with Mundy, telling the story of the many Governors of Pennsylvania who were League members. Watch this episode to learn more.
