Teresa Resch (MBA, ‘06), alumna of the St. Thomas University Sports Administration program, is the Vice President of Basketball Operations and Player Development for the Toronto Raptors. Resch talks about her time at St. Thomas University and her entry into the sports industry, ultimately leading to a high ranking position with one of the most successful organizations in the NBA.
Resch discusses the many internships she worked while at St. Thomas University at organizations such as the Miami Heat, Orange Bowl Committee, Complete Ticket Solutions, and the Coconut Grove Arts Festival. Her experiences at St. Thomas University led Resch to an opportunity with the NBA league offices where she worked in the international basketball operations department before joining the Toronto Raptors.
The Raptors VP also gives students advice on how to break into the sports industry.
“There is not one path,” said Resch. “Don’t be afraid to take chances, make sure you are treating people well, make sure you are working really hard, and you will find your way.”
