Takht Sri Damdama Sahib, also known as the “Kashi of Sikhs”, holds immense spiritual and historical significance. This sacred Takht has not only been a center of religious activities, but also played a vital role in political movements during the Mughal rule, British era, and beyond.
🔹 Under the guidance of Misl Shaheedan’s leader, Baba Deep Singh Ji, the tradition of teaching, writing, and interpreting Gurbani flourished here. This laid the foundation of the Damdami Taksal, which continues to this day.
🔹 Baba Deep Singh Ji served at this holy place for a long time, personally overseeing the preparation of many handwritten copies of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji. For this reason, Damdama Sahib became famous as a center of Sikh scholars, writers, and interpreters.
