It's the last episode in my Rebuild series, and we're looking at Health & Wellness and how to reach that market.
Some numbers for you: the global health and wellness market is worth $3.3bn, and it’s projected to grow at a compound annual rate of 5.3% between 2020 and 2025.
There are more than 110,000 average weekly searches for self-care, up 25% from last year. Social posts for self-care are up 33% and increased 14% for mental health.
And is it any wonder? The tsunami impact of 2020 will ripple on for decades. More than ever, we need people, brands and products that help us feel centred, grounded, loved and cared for.
This is the era of the new gentle. We love this quote by the FT’s Jo Ellison – it echoes how so many of us feel: “Personally, I’m sick of feeling hopped up on adrenaline and vaguely agitated: I crave the stimulation of things that are nurturing instead.”
And it’s not just what we eat and what we put on our skin. We’re buying the puffa jackets that cocoon us, the squishy furniture that hugs us. We’re tuning into ambience videos, which pair relaxing soundscapes with animated scenery, to soothe viewers.
Wellbeing is redefining so many areas of consumption: from mattresses to beauty to fashion.
