Ghana 🇬🇭 Shooting at Independence [Black Star] Square, Accra

Описание: Happy Independence day to all my Ghanaian friends ! 🌍 March 6 is such a special day for Ghanaians, so I am very happy to share with you some backstage videos of my fashion shooting... which took place at the Independence Square (also known as Black Star Square) in Accra, Ghana. It's the place to be for all major public gatherings, unforgettable concerts (eg: Afro Nation, the world's biggest Afrobeats music festival ! Watch my previous video online !) or even the Independence Day, which takes place every year on March 6. 🇬🇭

The 6 March 1957, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah declared: "Ghana, our beloved country, is free forever." The Union Jack colours were lowered. A new flag with three horizontal stripes was hoisted: red for the blood shed in the struggle for independence, yellow for gold and prosperity (Gold Coast), green for the country’s natural wealth. A black star in the centre honours the memory of pan-African activist Marcus Garvey and his shipping company, the Black Star Line. The Ghana became the first colony in sub-Saharan Africa to gain independence.

In this public square are three famous landmarks of Ghana's independence struggle:
Arch of Independence
Black Star Gate/Monument
Liberation Day Monument
