Part of the tip is still inside the Apple Pencil. This means you can't replace the tip. Genius at Apple Tech Bar tried to remove it but gave up after 5 minutes. Asked me to fork out £139 for a new pencil.
I brought it home and tried it myself and successfully removed the tip. I only had to fork out £19 for 4X replacement tips.
Here is how I managed to remove it. There are some minor cosmetic damage, but worth the money and certainly good for the environment too!
