Djangology is one of the first tunes that you learn in gypsy jazz. Fun to play with a cool head and easy enough chords it's a popular jam classic.

However soloing over the chord progression isn't that straight forward when you have to create lines through all the changes.

In this video lesson I want to share a real easy way of soloing over Djangology that really cuts through the changes and sounds fab.

For the A section just base your improvisation around these notes:

C#, C, B, Bb, A, Ab, G

Thats' C# for one bar C for 1 bar etc.

This is the backbone and core melodic line running through the chord changes and when you base your solo lines on these notes it will sound really good and in the pocket.

Memorise these notes and always have it in mind every time you play Djangology.
