GRANDMA PIERSON'S FROSTED PECAN DAINTIES
(50 CENT PIECES)
Cookie:
1 c. butter, no substitutes
1\4 c. powdered sugar
2 c. flour
1\8 tsp. salt
Cream butter, blend in sugar, salt and then flour. Shape into 2 rolls the size of 50 cent pieces and chill. Cut slices 1\4 inch thick. Place on ungreased cookie sheets and bake at 350 degrees about 10-12 minutes. Should not be brown. Cool.
Frosting:
2 T. butter
1 1\2 c. powdered sugar
1 T. hot water
cream or milk
pecans, finely ground
Brown butter slightly in fry pan. Remove from heat. Stir in sugar and water. Add enough cream to spread easily. Frost and dip tops in pecans. Makes about 6 1\2 dozen. May add a little cream if dough becomes stiff. These taste better and better the longer they sit.
