One of the best neighborhoods of Colorado Springs Westside is Mountain Shadows. Nestled against the mountain of Ormes Peak and bordered on the Eastside by Ute Valley park this westside neighborhood offers great access to hiking and mountain biking and an abundance of wildlife visits around your home. There is quick access to Garden of the Gods park within a 5-10 minute drive or bike ride. This highly desirable neighborhood offers the best of what the Westside offers, blended into the beautiful rolling hills of the front range and close access to parks and the I-25 Freeway.

The Bighorn Sheep herd migrates through this area and can be seen often in the springtime. An abundance of other wildlife will be seen throughout this neighborhood. deer, mountain lions, bobcats, foxes, rabbits, and more!

Mountain Shadows Park is a larger park for your family to play and it is right next to Chipeta Elementary school in the middle of the neighborhood. There are two D-11 elementary schools in the neighborhood. Chipeta Elementary and Trailblazers Elementary school

In the last six months, (Video created 8/13/2021) there have been 49 sales in the neighborhood. The average home sale was $636,545 and the median home sale was $575,000. The highest sold home was $1,265,000 and the lowest home sale was $400,000. The median days on market for a home in this neighborhood was five.

The Waldo Canyon Fire of 2012 burned several homes in this area so you see newer built homes within the neighborhood with a more modern look. There are many traditional styled homes to be found also. There are some executive-style homes for those who travel a lot so the lot sizes are smaller and less exterior landscaping upkeep. There are many larger lots with larger homes also to be found. Bordering the western side of the neighborhood you will find some terrific Condominiums and Townhouses with garages. There certainly are a variety of home types and styles. There is a senior assisted living home, MorningStar within the neighborhood, so if you have aging parents they can be near you and be well taken care of.

Flying W ranch chuckwagon suppers which were established in 1953 burn down during the Waldo Canyon fire they have since re-built a beautiful new facility and opened up for business in July 2020 during the Covid pandemic. They are now open and offer great family fun with chuckwagon dinners and wrangler music shows. They also offer a wonderful Christmas show, a great idea for creating memorable family events. It is located to the far west of this community and is a long-time family-owned business whose roots began as a mountain cattle ranch back in 1947. A link to their website is below.
