A new open space policy by the BMC has not gone quite well with the citizens and activists in Mumbai. The new policy states that all the open spaces should be maintained by the private organisations; however activists and citizens demand that 216 plots should be maintained by the BMC. With this regards a group of activists met the BMC commissioner Ajoy Mehta on Tuesday evening with certain demands.
