This flavour combination takes me to Portland, visiting Salt & Straw's Wiz Bang Bar soft-serve outlet. I thought the combo sounded so weird, but it was such a surprise when I bit into it. Since then, I've taken a leaf out of their book and peppered strawberry ice cream with freshly ground black pepper whenever I have the chance to (much to the confusion of others lol). This recipe is adapted from Salt & Straw's cookbook. I use store-bought strawberry puree rather than making it from scratch as good strawberries are not common where I'm at. If you don't have honey balsamic, regular balsamic vinegar would work as well. Use freshly cracked black pepper if possible!
