This video was filmed at Lydia Bridge which is a Grade II listed packhorse bridge spanning the River Avon near South Brent in Devon. Built of stone in the 17th or 18th century, it arches gracefully over a narrow, rocky channel where a waterfall tumbles into a deep pool. Today, it is cherished as a beauty spot, but its reputation extends far beyond its picturesque setting.

The bridge and its surroundings are steeped in folklore and tales of the supernatural. Local superstition whispers of the Devil himself dwelling in a tunnel beneath the river. Tradition warns that anyone crossing should hold their breath, lest they disturb his slumber.

Over the centuries, Lydia Bridge has earned a reputation as a haunting hotspot. Ghostly figures are said to linger here:
• A spectral woman in a floor-length skirt.
• Shadowy monks and a lone redcoat soldier.
• A troubled, middle-aged woman whose presence unsettles passersby.

Adding to the mystique is a curious stone formation along the riverside path known as the Devil’s Finger. Folklore claims that if your finger fits neatly into the hollow, you must spit upon it to secure good fortune.
