Описание: Los Jaivas is a Chilean rock band, known for its innovative fusion of psychedelic and progressive rock with Latin American folk instruments and rhythms, especially Andean.[4] Formed in Viña del Mar, Valparaíso Region, Chile, in 1963, the group has been active ever since. They are often considered the most important and influential band in Chile and one of the most prestigious in South America.

Throughout their career, Los Jaivas have received numerous awards, including the Chilean Traditional Figure Award, the National Culture Award, the National Music Award (2004), the Pablo Neruda Artistic and Cultural Merit Award granted by the Ministry of Culture, and the President of the Republic Award (2003) in the Popular Music category. In their last appearance at the Viña del Mar Festival in 2023, commemorating the 60th anniversary of their formation, they received the Silver, Gold, and Platinum Seagull awards, as well as the keys to the city of Viña del Mar, in recognition of both their artistic talent and their career.

In more than half a century of musical activity, Los Jaivas have distinguished themselves by exploring and fusing diverse styles, from their beginnings with tropical music, through progressive rock, avant-garde improvisation, and jazz, to Andean music and Latin American fusion.

In addition to composing, arranging, and performing an extensive repertoire of their own, the group has set to music works by prominent Chilean poets and composers, such as Nobel Prize winner Pablo Neruda, and has arranged and performed pieces by iconic figures such as Violeta Parra and Osvaldo Rodríguez.
