Nick and Lizzie were celebrating having a boy at their gender reveal party. As everyone was cheering for the couple, Betty got a message from her doctor. She pulled Nick aside and nervously asked if the party vendor made a mistake – the test results from the clinic said Betty was going to have a girl. Nick’s demeanor suddenly changed. “I told them we were having a boy”, he said. Lizzie got nervous. Mike explained that his dad was terminally ill and he always wanted a grandson: “I just want him to be happy… before he…”, Nick’s voice began to tremble. Lizzie calmed him down and agreed to join his noble lie.

But that wasn’t the actual reason behind Nick’s desire to deceive his parents.
