In this interview to the show 'This Cultural Life' (BBC), he talks about his identity and sense of belonging. He consciously hid his Belfast accent to ‘fit in’ in England. This process of losing his native accent took him 2-3 years and also made him a more introverted person while losing confidence on who he was. Becoming quieter is also reported by the first-generation women I interview.
