Impressions/observations during the test drive:
The overall exterior design of the Custin is modern looking and distinctively Hyundai. Its LED lights give the car a modern look and road presence. The rear design is also given character by its full width light bar. Moving over into the interior, the materials are both durable and quality. There is also good technology such as the infotainment screen which is capable of Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. It also has cooled seats and retractable mini tables on the 2nd row.
The engine of the Custin makes good power to carry around the vehicle's weight around. Its 8-speed automatic transmission shifts smoothly, which adds to the ride comfort. Overall, this vehicle focuses more on ride comfort rather than sportiness as evidenced by the lack of manual mode. Although, it has sport drive mode, in addition to smart, eco, and comfort modes. Even when going through uneven road surfaces, the Custin is capable of providing a comfortable and good ride quality. Its accelerator and brake pedals respond well to the driver's inputs. The steering feel and weight is light which makes this vehicle very easy to drive and maneuver around. It also has a high-quality 360-degree camera which would help in parking this vehicle. This vehicle has different kinds of safety features included in the Hyundai’s Smartsense Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) suite, encompassing features like adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind-spot monitoring, and forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking. It also notifies the driver once a vehicle up front starts to move away already, when one is moving from a standstill.
