Bhoota Aradhane or spirit worship forms an important aspect of Tulu Nadu, a region that comprises coastal districts of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi. History shows that Bhoota Aradhane was utilised even by the Tuluva kings of the great Vijayanagara Empire. 

Bhoothas are considered as assistants of god and people believe their worship as the best way to reach God.
