kohoj fort trek lies near vaghote village, this is base village for traking this fort. Two and half hours to reach to top of this fort.
Kohoj fort is around 800 years old and a part of the purandar treaty. As a part of this treaty, Shivaji maharaja and mughals on 11 june 1665.
kohoj fort height from the sea level is about 3200ft. the kohoj fort trek is medium grade trek but kohoj is highest fort in palghar. on the flat surface of the fort there is a holy temple of lord Shankar and fifteen water tanks on fort surface. further on the top of this fort, we come across a temple of lord hanuman and lord ram. there are some pinnacles are naturally formed due to wind erosion and two of them shaped like humans.
