Crumb Reveal + Taste Test 🍞😮💨 | Blue Chocolate Chip Sourdough (Finale)
The loaf came out darker than planned because this oven runs hot and I’m still learning it. After all that shaping and colouring, it was honestly a letdown at first.
When I sliced into it, the blue didn’t survive the bake. The spirulina cooked out and the inside colour was unexpected — lesson learned. Next time I’d use more butterfly pea flower.
Texture-wise, the loaf was fully cooked and really soft. I cut it a little warm because I couldn’t wait. The crumb was tender with sandwich-bread vibes in an artisan loaf shape.
Not sweet, just lightly tangy — perfect with dark chocolate mini chips. The condensed milk, brown sugar, olive oil, and milk powder made the bread incredibly soft.
Would I change things next time? Yes — lower heat, lid on longer, and rethink the cold-oven bake. Even with the chaos, it was really delicious.
