Kristiansund is a coastal town in western Norway, built across several islands along the Atlantic coast. We began our walk by the harbor, where everyday life seems closely connected to the sea and the rhythm of the waterfront. Our original plan was to film in the upper streets of the traditional city center, but we were surprised to find many closed shops and vacant premises there. Well, it looked like someone’s idea of doing business in a way that makes sure nobody actually earns any money. It felt as if the town’s heart had shifted closer to the sea — and that is exactly where we chose to continue our walk.
