Widespread protests rage over Nepal against the citizenship rules. In Sarlahi district many political parties under a common platform took out a protest march against the Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and his government.
These leaders opposed the planned changes in the existing rules as it may affect the families in Nepal’s plains also known as the Madhesh region, where cross border kingship with India is quite common.
India’s Defence Minister had previously reminded Nepal that the relation between the two countries is like ‘Roti-Beti’ (Daughter & Bread) and it should not tamper.
