In 2013 I bought my VERY FIRST Classic Car ... My 1985 Toyota MR2 MK1. AW11 4-AGE. It was £500 and had sat unloved on a driveway for a few years. Dad and I restored the car and it's been with me ever since. Fast forward to 2021 and ... well I found my love of the Malaysian automotive brand 'Proton' and the Toyota MR2 was left unloved in the garage.

It's the 40th anniversary of the Toyota MR2 this year, and not only does it deserve to be back on the road, but it deserves to be enjoyed and driven ... just like it used to be before them pesky 20 other cars came along into my collection.

Ive optimistically booked and MOT for the car for next week. In this video then, Dad gives the MR2 a bit of a Pre MOT to make sure that being sat for those 4 years ... nothing majorly wrong has occurred.

We will check out the rot (inevitable on a car of this age from Japan), the brakes, tyres, lights and everything else ready for the MOT.

Spoiler alert - quite a boring video ... with minimal work needing to be done.
