Steam engines are notorious for having strong personalities that often work against you, so you can imagine what happens at Foxfield Railway when we want to turn an engine - and we don't have a turntable! We do this because the harsh corners of the line wear the wheels down, so we bring in a special lorry to turn the engines and spread out the wear more evenly. This is a part of us trying to be sustainable by not wantonly going through parts and materials. If you have suggestions on how else we can be more sustainable let us know in the comments!
