IO Interactive is taking a bold approach by completely dumping the established franchise lore to create a brand-new origin story for Bond—and honestly, it feels like a reckless move.

Instead of building on decades of iconic 007 history, the game is rebooting everything from scratch. No familiar faces, no nods to the legacy—just a blank slate. While that might sound fresh to some, to longtime fans it comes across as a slap in the face to the IP and everything that made Bond iconic in the first place.

We don’t need the wheel reinvented—we need a solid, well-crafted game that respects the source material. And based on what’s being revealed, the writing may already be on the wall for this game to fall short.
