For all of my YouTube friends, here is the one and only Al Jolson, this time in his final studio recording, singing in tribute to the master songsmith from 100 years prior, Stephen Foster. Arranger Gordon Jenkins brilliantly combines the old south feel of this song with the musical flavor of Jolson's Russian Jewish roots, even adding a simulated shofar call toward the ending, and Jolie is at the top of his game as always, all making for a pretty amazing and fun listening experience. Once again I've remastered the audio. I hope you'll enjoy it!
