This is a review of the 2021 Sight and Optic C2. A comparison of the two bikes, and comparing them to a Yeti SB150 and a Yeti SB130LR, and just for fun comparing the Optic to a Mondraker f-podium rr DC race bike. This video is a little long with this much information, just a warning! I hope you enjoy the review and the comparison and if you are looking to buy a Norco, I cannot say enough good stuff about these bikes. They are straight rippers.
Here are the details of the bikes
Norco Sight C2 Size medium I am 5’8”
Important Specs:
150mm rear/160mm front
77.3’ seat tube - braap up
63.5’ head angle - braap down
455mm reach - so roomy I can party all day
Pros
Excellent geometry
Centered balance with incredible front wheel traction
Hard to end up behind the bike
C2 build has fantastic suspension for the price - lyrik deluxe and dh select rear with climb switch
Ride aligned - it just works, especially the rear setup and the adjustments by size means it fits very well by rider size
The dark purple frame with silver was smokin'
GX works great
This thing can climb for a 33 lb bike
Cons
Hub Engagement on the e-13 wheels
Those Maxxis tires are slow and heavy - think "I ONLY RIDE PARK"
Chain tensioner no bash guard - I am puzzled as this seems opposite of need with today's rear d mechs
Norco Optic C2 Medium for me, Small for wife
Important Specs:
125mm rear/140mm front
76’ seat tube
65’ head angle
450mm reach - ready to tame the trails that have fun little diamonds for markers
Pros
Great reach
Extremely centered bike
Premium front end traction
That custom rear shock - it likes it rough
Vittoria tires hook up
Good wheelset - easy to upgrade engagement dt 350 hubs
125mm gets 4 piston brakes - nice
I think you can long stoke this bad boy - working on that now
65’ head angle on a trail bike - shredtastic
It can climb - not a race winning XC climb, but faster than my enduro bro bike - great seat tube angle
Then party all the way back down
Cons
Heavy at 32 (pedals and cage on - I weighed it) lbs, feels a bit enduro in the weight - this can be remedied - C1 or some parts upgrades gets you to 28.9 C1. I think with a full custom build if you want the bike - 26.5 is achievable - 28 if you want a burly ass trail bike
The tires hook up, but are an enduro tire on a trail bike - too trendy to be trail fast
Aluminum rear, the bike feels rear heavy with the GX, aluminum wheel, and heavy tire. Most of this was immediately fixed with a light carbon we are one and wild am tire. Add a carbon rear and this would be awesome
Gotta fish out the cables on the internal….why oh why no internal router that are nice and built in a modern era…...
