Описание: In the Tarim Basin in western China are the remains of an ancient Buddhist kingdom called Kucha. It flourished for many years as an oasis city-state on the Silk Road. But was embroiled in many battles from the kingdoms that surrounded it, and was eventually lost to history. Today, the area is in Aksu Prefecture of Xinjiang, China. Artifacts are carefully preserved and the story of the lost kingdom was turned into a guzheng piece called "An Exploration to Kucha", by Wei Jun, a modern Chinese composer. Emily Zhou explains the history and plays the composition.
