This is part 2 of my Seeking Valhalla canoe trip, which was 4 days solo canoeing and camping on Slocan lake. Located deep in BC's Sekirk Mountains, Slocan lake stands out for its size, beauty, and water clarity. Running along its western shore is Valhalla Provincial Park, which is where I spent most of my time. In this episode I explore an abandoned trapper's cabin, discover multiple pictograpghs, canoe all the way to Slocan city for breakfast at Flacas bisto, and then things got pretty interesting regarding the wildfire situation. I got an up close look at 4 water bomber airplanes flying in formation, filling up in Slocan lake, then flying up and out of sight to dump there water on the fire burning hillside. It was a pretty crazy experience, and it made for a real interesting way for me to end my trip.
