I reached Varna, Bulgaria and didn’t expect my first day to turn into such an unforgettable experience.

At my hostel, I met a girl from New Zealand who had lost her phone and wallet the previous day and was extremely stressed. To help her, I took her to Western Union so she could receive money sent by her brother.

While searching for a SIM card, I realized that popular European SIMs like Lyca Mobile or Orange are not available in Bulgaria. Local SIMs like A1 and Yettel mostly work only inside Bulgaria, not across the EU — which makes backpacking tricky.

She was volunteering at the hostel and traveling around Europe for 5 months, so she showed me a few places in Varna. One funny (and shocking) thing about her — she forgets things a LOT 😅

In just one week, she lost her phone, wallet, hoodie, and several other items — almost one item every day.

This vlog is about backpacker life, hostel stories, kindness from strangers, and real travel moments that don’t go as planned.
