KLEX 2017: “Hem 84” by Andrew Stiff & Thierry Bernard-Gotteland (Vietnam)

Описание: A research project, started in 2016, aimed to investigate life within the hems [alleyways] in the city of Ho Chi Minh, [Saigon], Vietnam, through a series of ‘Events’, that help define the multifunctional spaces through the relations developed by the inhabitants and their rituals. The Hems are defined by their ability to transform from an extension to the house, to a communal eating space, to a place of peace and tranquility, punctuated by the sounds of Vietnamese love songs, sung by the locals.

Kuala Lumpur Experimental Film, Video & Music Festival (KLEX), the artists-run, grassroots international festival of experimental film and music, is back with its eighth edition, “KLEX 2017: Crossing Over”, on 24-26 November 2017 at RAW Art Space and Checkmate Creative.

The festival includes: KLEX Open Programmes with selected works from the open call from Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe and USA; International Guest Programmes and artist lectures from Germany, Japan, Korea and Singapore; and music and audio-visual performances.

Over 70 experimental shorts from Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe & USA will be screened; and 22 local and international performers will be joining the music and audio-visual programme.
