This song is about surviving depression. When sinking into the deep, black ocean of darkness, you either reach the bottom and push yourself back up or you don't reach the bottom at all. Anyone who has been to the bottom can be other's anchors.
No one knows the bottom better than an anchor.
Look after each other out there. Let's not lose anyone that could have been saved by an extra hug or a "How are you man".
