Yemen's healthcare system is collapsing after years of civil war and a US-backed blockade that has disrupted more than half of all medical services. The World Health Organisation estimates more than 23 million people will need humanitarian aid in 2026, with only 60 per cent of health facilities fully functioning. Medical professionals are being forced out of their jobs due to low wages and lack of insurance, whilst patients endure treatment with obsolete and often unsafe equipment. Severe economic conditions and restrictions on essential supplies entering the country mean millions cannot access proper care.
