This system must be built on principles of valuing information based on its content and potential for reuse, governed by clear retention schedules, and seamlessly integrated into the organization's daily workflow. The adoption of international standards like ISO 15489 provides a crucial framework for this endeavor, signaling a convergence of the traditionally separate disciplines of records management, archives, and librarianship into a unified practice focused on managing an organization's most vital, reusable information assets.
