Charles Dickens’s Children No. 11 – No Name

Описание: Charles Dickens had ten children with his wife Catherine before parting acrimoniously from
her when he fell for 18 year old blonde blue eyed actress Nellie Ternan.

As the most famous author in the world and someone known for his moral sensibilities he
kept his affair well out of the public gaze and little was known about it until his daughter was
interviewed in late life.

Although it remains hotly disputed, it seems likely that Charles and Nellie had a son,
probably born in France, and registered under a false name, but the baby died after a few
months.

Returning to England with Nellie and her mother, Dickens was involved in the Staplehurst
Rail Disaster and those that knew him said he was never quite the same again.
Was it the accident that changed him or losing a child with the woman he loved but could
never be seen with?

There are no records for his 11th child - we don’t even know his name.
